The Wellness Assessment Foundation, Inc. (WAF), is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes health awareness through Health Events. We offer complementary health screenings and wellness services to underserved communities to help encourage healthy behaviors. Our mission is to educate the community about their health and offer ways of improving it.
WAF Health Events are a great way for local businesses and organizations stay connected with the community with our many services offered. Our target communities are low income, uninsured and those with no or limited transportation. We provide diagnostic screenings, lifestyle modification and health and wellness counseling and education and continue to add more services each year.
A WAF Health Events consists of free biometric screenings which include blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, BMI, vision and hearing. Health and wellness counseling consists of nutrition, diabetes, cancer, women and men’s health. We also offer fitness education, massage therapy, cooking demonstrations and fun, health related children activities.
Our screenings help detect an individual’s risk for chronic and preventable diseases. They are performed by highly educated professionals with medically specialized certifications. Screenings provide information on current and potential medical issues. People are given reliable information about chronic diseases such as hypertension, heart disease/stroke and high/low cholesterol and can identify solutions for prevention, progression and improved health. Early detection through health screenings can save someone from the burden of chronic and advanced health conditions and may save lives.

Health events may be the only source of contact with a health professional for many. When you give to WAF, you help provide free health screenings to thousands of women, men and children.
